Our Industrial Design Student Mehdiyeva Among Europe’s Top 11 Designers

The Pro Carton Young Designers Award ’22 winners were announced during a grand ceremony held on September 15-16 in Krakow, Poland, as part of the ECMA (European Carton Makers Association) Congress.

At the end of the Pro Carton Young Designers Competition, Khuraman Mehdiyeva, a student of the Industrial Design Department at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Faculty of Fine Arts, guided by Assistant Professor Dr. Deniz Ekmekçioğlu, reached the finals with her project “FanTime!”. Out of over 830 students from more than 100 universities across 24 European countries, she was recognized as one of Europe’s top 11 designers.

Representing OMÜ with distinction, Khuraman Mehdiyeva received her award at the ceremony held in Krakow, Poland.

Promoting the Use of Cardboard Materials

The Pro Carton Young Designers Competition is held annually across Europe to emphasize the carbon footprint generated in the production and use of industrial product packaging. The competition also encourages the use of cardboard, a material that demonstrates exceptional sustainability with the ability to be recycled more than 25 times.
